Making Bookends attachments work with Dropbox

Post by TXCiclista »

I've been using Bookends with Dropbox for a year now, simply by moving the library to a Dropbox folder and then setting that as a default. I am having a difficult time with the attachments folder, however, since a custom path insists on attaching the computer name. What I would like, instead of iMac:Users:Me:Dropbox:Documents:Bookends:Attachments: is the ability to provide like ~/Dropbox/Documents/Bookends/Attachments. Can this be done? I'm willing to be the guinea pig to test out how well it works...

On a related note, it would also be nice to be able to move the custom formats and other stuff that now resides in Application Support to a different location (such as within Dropbox).

The iMac:Users:Dropbox:...

means the same as ~/Dropbox/...

Bookends is just displaying what the underlying OS uses.

As for allowing users to move the custom folders, I'm reluctant to do that.

Probably wise... and as I recall the Dropbox developers seem to have plans for marking any folder in the file system for syncing anyway. So never mind :)
