Font case problem in abbreviations, roman numbers

Post by Bayar Garam »

Hi,

I'm a new Bookends user and am setting up my new style. I can't solve this font display problem. In my bibliography list, only the first letter of the short title, abbreviation for series, roman numbers are displayed properly (i.e. in capital) while the rest are in small cases. See below an example. These abbreviations and numbers are properly entered in the fields.

Montgomery, J.A. A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Books of Kings (Icc; Edinburgh: T&T, 1951).
The Books of Kings: Critical Edition of the Hebrew Text (Stade, B., and F. Schwally (eds.), Sbot; Leipzig: J.C., 1904).
Ulrich, Eugene C. et al. Qumran Cave 4, Ix. Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Kings (Discoveries in the Judean Desert Xiv; Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1995).
Gray, John. I & Ii Kings: A Commentary (Otl; London: SCM, 2nd fully rev. edn, 1970).

Can anyone help me solve this problem. Your help is much appreciated.

I'm guessing that the format you are using requires Title Case for titles (this applies to short titles, too). If so, you need to add the words or Roman numerals to exclude from this in Bookends preferences (Scan & Bib tab). Or you can turn off Title Case in the format. There is also one trick I'll mention -- if the title ends in a comma, Bookends will not apply any case manipulation to it regardless of the format.
