Bookends 11.1.7 can't find one specific entry by author

I have a database with 14178 entries and Bookends 11.1.7
I have reindexed and rebuilt the database but the following peculiar phenomenon remains.
I am looking for this entry
Bassler, O. Bradley (2006): “The Surveyability of Mathematical Proof: A Historical Perspective”. Synthese 148:1, S. 99-133.

When I search for "Bradley" or "surveyability" Bookends finds this entry (even "O." works). But when I search for "Bassler" no entry is found.
Besides reindexing and rebuilding the database I also retyped the surname "Bassler". It didn't help.
What am I doing wrong?

Can you find Bassler if you do a non-indexed search? You can do this in the live search box by surrounding the name with quote marks:

"Bassler"

Also, for 14K references, I'd up the database cache to 15 MB (no more).
