Vanishing search box cursor
Using BE 11.3.2 on OSX 10.8.2. When I move the cursor through text in the search box (main window or Pubmed window) it vanishes and I can't see where it is until I stop moving it. I don't see that behavior in any of my other apps. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

That's called submarining, and you can't. This is one of the cosmetic issues Cocoa should address.

I'll just use this opportunity to ask whether we might see the Cocoa version any time soon?
(BTW, the vanishing cursor [in the edit ref fields] is one of the main annoyances for me too. It slows down entering and editing way too much. So in that way it's a functionality issue, not just cosmetics.)

It's annoying, but I don't think it's that big a deal (the cursor reappears in a second or so after you release the arrow key). In any case, the Cocoa version is coming along. At this point the limiting factor is getting rid of bugs in the framework, not Bookends code per se. I can't give a time frame, because that's not under my control. But I can say that I'm working with Cocoa builds every day and the large majority of functions work as well as, if not better than, in Carbon.

I'm really happy that you are working on this. The disappearing cursor is a big deal, I'm afraid. I'm always deleting the wrong thing when editing references because the cursor has disappeared at just the wrong moment.
Re: Vanishing search box cursor
Great news, as small things like the vanishing cursor have been affecting my use too (when one needs to clean up a dozen or so new imports, all extra time spent editing fields feels like a huge annoyance). I am also looking forward to get rid of a couple of more minor issues like strange highlighting borders, no support for my retina display etc. Good times! I guess we can also welcome the first cocoa build because you being done with it will mean that you’ll have more time to focus on features, not frameworks.
A great start into 2013 to you all!
