Horizontal scrollbar

It appears I'm not the only user who wishes the horizontal scrollbar could be done away with, whether via a menu toggle or manual column resizing:

The Bookends UI is looking better than ever (to my mind this has been the sole significant weakness of the program), but for those of us who use a trackpad in particular, making this possible could really improve usability. Currently there's a regular wobble for me on account of the superfluous horizontal scrollbar, which frankly seems quite silly beneath miles of blank column space on a larger display. Surely there's a way to code this?

Actually, there isn't an easy way while the scrollbar is functional. I could make it an Action gear or right-click option to hide/show the horizontal scrollbar, though.
