8.1 really is spectacular Jon, kudos to you. The new improvements to the List view is excellent. I have 2 requests regarding the regular window. Is there anyplace where it can be indicated if that particular entry is in a static group? Right now, I'm having to flip back and forth between windows, and if I attempt to add a reference to a static group in the regular window, and it is already part of that group, I get an NIL error, and errors always scare me (I don't want my database corrupted).
Second, in the drop down menu for entry type (journal, book, book chapter, etc), would it be possible to make it a two-columned menu when you click on it. It is a bit of a hassle to have to click it, scroll up, and choose the proper type. Thanks, Danny

Re: two requests
You should not get a nil error -- if a ref is already in the group, it simply is not added again, and there is no warning.danzac wrote:8.1 really is spectacular Jon, kudos to you. I don't know what the error is due to, but I'd rebuild the database (actually, I'd rebuild the db in 8.1 on principle -- we've made some internal mods that should be beneficial).

two-columned menu
well instead of being one long menu=
journal
book
book chapter
newspaper
periodical
etc
etc
it would be two columned,
journal newspaper
book periodical
bookchapter etc
etc etc
two-colmned menu probably isn't the technical word for it

oh, okay, no biggie, it would just make things go by a little quicker. I know about the default type.
What about the designation of a static group on the regular window, is that possible?

It would be pretty cumbersome for lots of reasons. As I said, if you are in doubt about whether a ref is in a group you want it to be in, just add it -- no harm done if it's already there.danzac wrote:What about the designation of a static group on the regular window, is that possible?
