BE 12.2.4 Unicode

Post by tiffert »

Hi Jon,

I just did a clean install of OS X 10.10.2 and BE 12.2.4 to see if a bug we've talked about in the past still exists with respect to parsing Chinese characters in the Unicode Ext-B block. It does.

BE displays the sole Ext-B character in my reference correctly in the author and book title fields. However, in the formatted reference pane, the character is garbled, and there are some extraneous spaces or punctuation in the scanned citations based on that ref.

I don't have the bug under OS 10.9.4 and BE 11.3.7 because of the older APIs used.

In the past you suggested the bug was on Apple's end, and I raise it now only to see if Apple's underlying code has changed to make it worth taking another crack at solving it. I hope so.

Thanks!
Jon
