disappearing attachments

I've had attachments disappear off and on through the years, which is frustrating (and scary!). It's happening again, and I'm not sure why.

Attachments are currently in dropbox, and I normally import as a new reference and attach, and all seems fine. Bookends deletes the original from my desktop. But opening it some weeks later, the attachment is missing.

Any thoughts?

What to you mean missing? Missing from the database? Or missing from the Dropbox folder? If it's the latter then it's nothing Bookends is doing -- Bookends only moves the file when it is attached (if you ask it to, of course). After that it's handled by Dropbox.
