How do you generate bibtex cite key for all references?

Post by mtauton »

I know how to do this with open reference one at a time (Command-Shift-K), but is there a quick way to do this with all your references at once?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

It's not intantaneous, but it's not bad:

1. In Preferences, turn enable BibTeX and check

"Create Key when importing".

2. Export (in Bookends format) and then import your references into a fresh database. The unique ID's will be retained.

I may play with letting you do this even more easily in a future update.

That works fine. However, I loose all my group information during the export/import.

Perhaps, I shall wait till you add that feature in a later release.

Thanks,
Matt
