Editor and translator

Oftentimes the same person acts as translator and editor (or compiler) for a given book. Usually, manuals of style require that in such cases you state the roles one after the other (e.g., Smith, John, ed. and trans.) Although this kind of situation is relatively frequent, there is currently no way of doing this automatically (I think). Would it be possible to get this result by merging together the text strings pertaining to editor and translator, and outputting the actual name only once?

The way to do this would be to create a new Type (Ed/Trans Book, or something like that) and modify the output to include 'ed. and trans.' in the appropriate place.
