editor in full for edited volume but et al. for book chapter

Post by ozean »

Hm, seems I encountered a problem:

I want to abbreviate the number of editors when displaying book chapters in my bibliography, so that not every entry for book chapters is spilled with a potentially long list of editors.

However, when I have an edited book as such in my bibliography, I want to display all the names of the editors.

It would be perfect if we could adjust the number of editors and authors that are displayed (and when and how to show the "et al." or whatever else may be required) per type and not in general.

I could add the ability to apply et al. to editors only (not to authors). Then you could move the editors of an edited book to the Authors field (and change the format accordingly). I don't think I would have this setting definable for each user Type.

Hey Jon,

I wanted to wait if others would chime in with their opinions. Doesn't seem to be the case, therefore your proposition seems fine enough to me :)

Thanks!
