Hi,
Under Ref pulldown, I can't find an 'update from pubmed" option, only "copy pubmed id". I am trying to update the PMCIDs.
Am probably overlooking the command. Thanks for your help.

Re: Bookends and Apple Pages '09
Well, I really should try to keep up with local news. Did not know that BE worked with Page '08 without the RTF trick.
And yes, I had "show extension" unchecked. Twice the dummy!

Re: Bookends and Apple Pages '09
Folks, It seems to me that Pages finally works with BE! Did as Jon suggested and set Pages 09 Prefs to save as package. I made both a new document in Pages 09 and converted an 08 doc to 09. Both were easily and speedily scanned by BE. Citations were put at end of document in proper hanging indent st...

Re: PMID Fields Are Empty
Jon, Thanks for the tip but things just got stranger. I had two PubMed filters, one in my custom user folder, one in the application. Trashed the custom one and now imported refs have PMIDs that are like Chinese characters. Also find it strange that all of my thousands of refs have no PMID numbers. ...

PMID Fields Are Empty
Hello All,
I just realized that none of the references in my database have PMID numbers, at least, not in the PMID fields. The PMID numbers can be found as part of the URL.
Is this normal? Or perhaps my import settings or something like that are not set correctly.
Thanks,
Eddie

PubMed Searches are Failing
Hi All, Using the BE internet search, Pubmed searches have all of a sudden stopped working. Get a "there are no matches" response. Was working fine earlier today. The Pubmed site is up and running. This happened a week or two ago, but it was fixed with the latest "silent" update....

Collaborative writing - how to merge databases?
Hello All, I already searched the forum and the BE users guide, but maybe I missed something. I am hoping that BE (9.1) has a merge function. My collaborator just updated my BE database while working on our joint manuscript. I have no idea what new references he added, and he may not be able to reca...

Import from PubMed Add "S" to Journal Name
Hello all,
Am using BE 9.1. When I import refs from Pubmed (don't from anywhere else) reference has an "S" at the end of the journal name. Happens with all new entries.
Anyone else see this? Fix?
Thanks, Eddie
