I think the best method is to do as you have done, to build-up the database as you go. As for question three: yes, you do need to put in every chapter in an edited book separately. However, you can copy and paste information to a new citation. Then you will only have to type the authors name and cha...

adding fields to temporary citations
Hi Again, I have some newspapers that have no authors. The temporary citations now only include the date and the newspaper, but not the name of the article. These identifiers aren´t enough to make the citation unique, and when I scan the document, there are always several different options of artic...

Thanks
The two copies of Bookends (one opened via database, one opened automatically when scanned document) crashed my computer a couple of times. Now, however, Bookends opens using the Word toolbar... and there are no problems anymore with error messages. Go figure. Problems solved for now. Will be back w...

step in the right direction
As per Read Me, I am now able to use references if I open the database rather than click on the actual program. However, when I scan the document, using the toolbar, Word automatically launches a second copy of bookends. First time, I crashed my Apple for the first time ever. Now the two copies seem...

Trying to add a citation but error message

I'm using Mac OX 10.3.9 My word is Office 2004. I have chosen Word as my word processor in the...

Already downloaded several references from JSTOR and figured out how I can capitalise my other references to be consistent with the JSTOR ones. Very clever software, don't know how I've gotten along without it. Thanks!!! ps. When you make the feature where you can automatically copy info for edited ...

Thanks and follow-up question
Thanks, that was very quick. I use JSTOR mainly but can just noticed that I can download citations as a text file. Bookends, however, does not read the text file. Individual citations look like the one below. Do I have to add something for bookends to read it? Thanks again, <8> IT : BRV GR : TI : Br...

Multiple citations for same book, downloading article info
These are such newbie questions... but I'd still really appreciate help. I have gone through the notes but find them difficult to understand. Am very excited about bookends but it will take a bit of learning. Two questions now: i) How do I make multiple entries for an edited book so that several art...
