Hi
I'm citing a lot of web pages, and I'm sure there must be a quick way to grab the main details into a new citation (at least URL, title, retrieval date). Does anyone have any advice please?

Library file not recognised for repair/rebuild
Hi I have a library file (database) of all my references, haven't used Bookends for a while, and the file has been up to cloud - Google drive - and back again to my mac. Now I try to open the library file it is grey and not recognised by Bookends, to repair, rebuild or whatever. It seems to be missi...

Re: Display of Citation within the text
I'm getting weird problems with citations using the caret ^ to extract the author name from parentheses. It worked fine, but now when I review the citation there is a line break added after the caret. The final text loses the name completely. **Update: Not sure of the cause but this was fixed with a...

Re: out of bounds error when I scan a document
For the record, this was a bad format, in case any one else is having the same.

out of bounds error when I scan a document
I have a sudden problem with my thesis, which is causing an out of bounds error. Bookends seems to verify the citations ok, asks if I want to generate a bib, but throws an error before formatting citations, and before my WP (Mellel) replaces any citations. I have no idea what I have changed since it...

Re: Alphabetical order?
Aha, thanks Jon.
That's not quite what I expected, and I've been happily entering 100's of names unreversed, thinking Bookends coped with them either way around. But I'll correct the names, and hopefully all will be dandy.

Re: Alphabetical order?
I'm confused about this. Many of my authors names are entered unreversed (eg John Smith, not Smith, John). When listed in the Bibliography, they show up fine, inverted correctly according to my format: "Smith, J. (2009)…" etc, so Bookends is parsing the surnames correctly, but they appear ...

Workflow / tips for Athens / Cambridge users?
Hi all, I'm new to BE, and academic writing in general. I'm only at the 'capture' stage right now, and intend to build my database as I go. I often want to enter a well-known book or paper, and quickly download a citation for BE import, with a good abstract etc. Usually it takes me way longer to fin...
