restricting search fields when scanning manual citations?
Hi, I work such that I enter manual citations almost exclusively - usually just author and date, but sometimes if the same author has multiple publications from the same year, I add a few words from the title. Or sometimes I'll just type in the title. It's just easiest for me to work this way. On sc...

Syncing questions
Hi all, I've just started playing a bit with the syncing feature (thank you so much for putting it in, Jon) and had a question before I start trying to implement it as SOP in our lab. We fit into the third "user scenario" in the user guide - we are a work group in which everyone can add to...

As for refbase, I'm certainly will to explore syncing through refbase with Matthias. It wouldn't sync attachments, of course. And there are a lot of other issues I can think of. I'm not sure why not syncing attachments is a necessary limitation. Copyright issues are important, obviously, but surely...

Thanks for your reply, Matthias. I had some further thoughts about how Bookends might be able to handle something resembling true syncing with a refbase-based database (or another web solution, for that matter). I apologize if these are totally unrealistic, just trying to get the thoughts out there....

Attachments, searches, and notes feature requests
There are a few things I would really like to be able to do that I don't think Bookends currently allows. So here's my wish list 1 - It would be very nice to be able to select text within attachments in Bookends. 2 - If text selection was possible, then a feature like Pages' "match" featur...

I'm glad that Jon (and others) are still thinking about this issue. Having skimmed over the Refbase page, and played a tiny bit with the Bookends server feature, I'm not really sure what is possible. So let me give you my ideal scenario and maybe someone can tell me if this is possible with the curr...

Right, but I'm not looking to format the regular citation. I mean the additional text that I can add by using \....\ - is there a way of italicizing one or two words between the backslashes, as a purely one-off thing? The reason I want this is to be able to editorialize within the citation brackets,...

Hi,
Is there any way to format additional text within citations - lets say I want it to italicize one word?
Thanks

Ibid. bug and request
Hi, I'm having a very simple "ibid." problem - it seems to have stopped working altogether. I click on "for repeated citations use" and enter "ibid" in the field. I then close the window, but when I scan a document full citations appear whether or not they are the same ...
