Word 2008 issues

I'm still having loads of issues with this.

The latest is that scans only work once. When I try to unscan or scan again, it runs the CPU at 100% and I have to force quit word.

It seems to be totally unstable to me.

That's good. But I wonder what the problem is with two backslashes -- unless they're inside citations, where the backslash is the "quote" mark? Can you reproduce this with a small file that you can send me? That's Word, not Bookends, I'm afraid. Bookends doesn't touch the table info (exce...

Why not create a small document and zip it and your database and send them to me so I can take a look. Jon Sonny Software I think I found out why Bookends is crashing on scans and other weird behaviour. Seems to be related to having '\\' in the file. The text in my document was copied from Latex an...

Scan a Word 2008 document problems

I'm having some serious problems with this. It simply doesn't work, in one instance, and in another not correctly. If I scan my document (100 odd pages) with the output in the same window, bookend crashes or sometimes the database just closes. If I scan it with the option to open a new window, it op...

Don't know why mellel is in the list. It has no proper table of contents (i.e. multiple ones for table of tables, tables of figures etc.), no indexing, and no cross references. Without these it's only a toy and useless for writing a thesis. May be ok for some paper styles though. May I ask what you...

I've used both, as well as endnote. IMO, bookends is by far the better of the three by a very wide margin.

Universal version release date?

Now that realbasic can generate universal binaries, when can we expect a universal version?

Feature Request

For those of us that are doing CS research....

JabRef has a very useful feature that I would love to see in bookends; web search. This allows one to search IEEEXplore and citeseer and download references (including abstracts) directly into the tool.

Any chance this can be done in bookends?

Did you check on 'Convert to TeX' in Preferences (BibTeX tab)? If so, contact me directly with the characters that aren't being converted and I'll look into it. The same with the pdf file -- send it to me (zipped) or at least the name. Jon Sonny Software Sorry, I wasn't clear about the PDF. The pro...

Annoying BibTex export problem

A reference with an attached PDF has the name of the PDF put in the keynote field. However, the name has a non-printable character appended to it which causes it to fail to open in BibDesk.
