Bookends - suggestion for importing
Hi, Please consider and let us know what do you think about this improvement in the search window: In the search window, where results of Pubmed/etc. query are displayed, each entry in the list would have a “tick button” to mark items for importing. Many times I have a long list of entries and need ...

Re: Removing coma from (author et al., year)
Unfortunately, this is not exactly a solution to my problem. I need a coma between author and year in case of one or two authors: (Smith, 1999) or (Bonny and Clyde, 1967). However, when there are more than two authors, the citation format should not include the coma: (Moe et al. 1955). I guess we ne...

Removing coma from (author et al., year)
Hi, The journal I'm writing to requires the bibliography to be cited using the following format: (author, year), (author and author, year) and (author et al. year) - if more than 2 authors. I have no problem with creating such format, except one issue - I cannot remove the coma between et al. and ye...

Re: Feature request
Hi Jon,
11.1.7 is out, but I cannot find the hierarchical menu. Should it be activated somewhere in preferences?

Re: Feature request
I think this would make the right-click menu too cluttered. Having an option setting the default reader would be more useful IMHO.

Re: Feature request
Hi,
I know how to change the default app for viewing PDF. However, I want to keep Preview as the default viewer (for several reasons) and use Skim only for reading journal articles attached to my references.
Regards,
Adam

Feature request
Hi, Thanks again for this great app, it makes my research and writing life so much easier :D Like many others, I use Skim for reading PDF files. However, it's not my default PDF reader (Preview is). I'd like to choose (in Bookends prefs) which program is used for opening attachments. What do you thi...

Re: The first letter of initials
Maybe I'm in minority, but such option would be very useful for me (I publish quite regularly in the journal requiring such citation format).

The first letter of initials
Hi all, I wonder if its possible to create a format where only the first letter of an author's initials is shown, eg. "Akbaraly, T." instead of "Akbaraly, T.N." if the author is defined as "Akbaraly, TN" in the reference details. It is required by some publishers and cu...

What text styles in Reference window are for?
Hi all, I'm a new user of Bookends and I'm very happy with it - excellent program with great support from its author(s). However, I don't understand the need for text/font styles in the main Reference window. I agree that having various text styles in the Notes tab (and maybe Bold/Italic in the Abst...
