I tried it on another Mac and it didn't work either.

So I created a new doc from the same template and it did work - so it is not the Apple event failing.

So I copied the text of the original doc into a new doc and still didn't work, so it must be something somewhere in the formatting ...

I had to do it by choosing hits and then sending them to an .rtf document because I didn't know about the pasting trick, which is good to the know about for the future.

Can you be a bit more explicit about how you sync the Bookends database using DropBox?

With most other things I just move the whole lot over into DropBox.

If a database extension has to be changed then I assume that there is another step - like using the sync function from within Bookends ...
