Okay, this seems to be the same problem that occurred a couple of years ago to me. Is this something that gets changed with new updates to Bookends? The solution involves using the Bibliography Formatter, which I never play around with! At any rate, here was the solution for me:
BibTeX styles must ...

APA formatted references not correct
I have been inputting citations into Bookends, but haven't actually been copying citations from it for awhile. So I don't know when this change happened, but currently Bookends doesn't display references correct for APA style.
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but this is what I see as the APA ...

Re: smart groups glitch
Jon,
Okay, I found the earlier version on an external hard drive and I'll use that for awhile.
Actually one problem was solved in the Preferences under Default View. It got changed to Reference from List. Now there's a 1% chance I did this, but since I was using Bookends just the day before with ...

Re: smart groups glitch
Jon,
#2 is the easy fix. #1 is bewildering. And if I rebuild the database I lose all my smart groups! Now that's a lot of extra work.
Actually everything was working fine in the earlier version. Is it possible to download the next to last version somewhere?
I'll try sending you the zipped ...

smart groups glitch
I just upgraded to the new Bookends 10.3.2. But it seems to have introduced 2 glitches:
1. Whenever I open a Bookends database I only see the pane for one entry. I don't, as before, see the list of all references. It's fairly easily corrected, but it's surprising behavior. And I need to manually ...

Re: how use bookends browser
Okay, maybe I'm missing the point of this. I can follow the instructions fine, but I don't want to just "browse" in Bookends (I can do that easier/better other ways), but I'd like to browse then import a citation from a University database. There seems to be no way to do this with the above ...

Re: psychinfo database access
Jon: Strange. The link works for me (by this I mean the link included in the forum here). But it may be the issue that I have "permission" to access this database at my university and you don't.

Re: psychinfo database access
Jon,
I actually have no idea about this identifier number. (Not sure exactly where to look or check this out.)
This is what I get when I click on one article's basic info via PsychInfo (w/o correct formatting). See below.
Does anything in this info indicate good possibilities?

First, I may not be understanding the "reference surfing" feature correctly. I've played around with it, even looked through parts of the manual, but it all seems pretty obscure to me at the moment.

issue number in journal article gets doubled
I have not input data into Bookends for 2-3 months. Today I noticed that when I input a new journal that includes volume & issue that the issue number gets repeated in the citation. (This does not happen with the old citations already input.) Strangely enough, one "issue number" has no formatting ...
