Re: Papers to Bookends export script

I don't understand. Bookends imported the weird attachment names (with the references) and the links work, finding the PDFs with the weird names? But you want the PDFs moved somewhere else. Is that it?

Re: [Suggestion] (Smart) group/folder icons change

Thanks for the suggestions. We'll see if there will need to be changes for Big Sur and, if so, to these icons.

Re: Bookends Notecards have white (invisible) text in dark mode

That happens when you make a notecard with header in Dark Mode. It's fixed in the next update.

Re: PDFpenPro

Drag and drop of the PDF proxy icon to the dock works well, I just tried it. If you don't know what the PDF proxy icon is, please refer to the User Guide (Help menu) for the various tools in the PDF toolbar.

The next update will probably be in a few weeks.

Re: PDFpenPro

OK.

In the meantime, you can open a PDF in PDFpenPro by dragging the proxy PDF icon in Bookends onto the image of PDFpenPro in the Dock.

This is on our request list. It's a major undertaking, so we'll see.

Re: Potential improvements

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll add them to the feature request list. One note about PDF full screen. The "focused" view is by design. We suggest you add references you want to switch between to the PDF tab bar (assuming they have PDFs), which works in full screen. If you still want the full screen...

Re: Tinderbox integration

In the next update, Bookends won't force the display of all references if the linked reference is already showing.

Re: Extra column

Add extra columns in Preferences (Lists tab). Change the order there, or do it in the library window with a right-click.

No, they won't. Have you tried the approach here?

Re: Search pdf files - accents sensitive

I tried feeding a diacritic-insensitive search to the PDFKit search APIs but it didn't work. I can't think of a workaround.

Re: Floating citations not working

I don't know if that's possible. Bookends is notified by the OS with the trigger key is pressed twice. If it's not receiving that notification then it seems the OS doesn't notify apps when the trigger happens in a different space.

Re: Old libraries auto populate when opening

That should be the clue, no? It's not "autopopulating", it's syncing. I suggest you temporarily turn off wifi, open the backup and disable syncing for it (use the cloud popup menu). Then re-enable wifi.
