continual update

Post by tkt26 »

I keep getting prompted to update to 11.1.1, but the file is still 11.1. This happens from the auto-updater prompt, and from the website. I can't seem to download and updated 11.1.1, and thus 11.1 keeps prompting for the update.

You mean you downloaded Bookends from

http://www.sonnysoftware.com/download/download.html

and the app you download is not 11.1.1?

No, we've had thousands of updates with only a few reports. Of those, it turned out the user didn't trash the old Bookends 11 folder and was inadvertently launching Bookends 11.1 (the Finder chooses which to launch if you just double-click on a database). The solution is to trash (and delete) the old Bookends 11 folder.

Well, you downloaded the update before. The Finder was simply launching the old version, that's all. You have to remove older versions from the HD or this can happen with any app.

I just went ahead and deleted my app and did a fresh reinstall. This worked fine and I had no problems. I like to do this with apps to make sure nothing goes wrong. It is probably a bit overkill, but this is the way that I do it.
