Re: Displaying PDF annotations in the reference window
Because I like working back and forth between Bookends (where I create attachments and manipulate citations) and and DevonThink Pro (where I do lots of annotating on the PDFs) the need to see my annotations in the reference window is not so great. Using the DT link command to connect to Bookends att...

Re: Javascript not enabled in JSTOR?
Jon, I apologize: in looking over my posts, I realize I wasn't explicit: I'm off-site, trying to get in to the UNC system to do all of this. So I've been using Bookends Browsing in online search (offsite I can't get access through the standard "JSTOR" selection: "There are no matches&...

Re: Javascript not enabled in JSTOR?
Thanks, Jon.
However, only the citation can be downloaded (and the series title only gives me a url?). Attempting to download the PDF does not seem to work, I've tried a couple of times.
Is it possible for Bookends to detect a PDF but not get it?
Thanks,
Craig

Javascript not enabled in JSTOR?
Dear Jon, I'm trying out the Bookends Browser as a way into my university server system to access JSTOR (UNC at Chapel Hill). Everything works well until I get to the page where citations can be selected and downloaded. These are buttons of various options: BibTex, Endnote, RefWorks, email. But ther...

Formatting
Jon, Thanks very much for the reply. I had been using Bookends for so long now, through so many versions, as a database only and not to scan documents with citations. I simply forgot to check closely into the Formats Manager, right there in the menu. Yes, the "Enclose citations" was blank....

Scanning does not produce Parentheses
I'm working on a Nisus Writer Pro document and the citations all seem to be correct as I get an accurate bibliography. However, in the scanned document, each in-text citation is now bare, just a date and page number for example, but without enclosing Parentheses. I thought that the parentheses would...

Thanks, Jon. I hadn't found that bit when I searched the Users Guide.

Importing hits list
I just noticed that when I import from the Internet search panel by using the pop up menu ("Copy to...") and with Import to Hits List checked, each copy procedure I do replaces the previous one on the Hits in the main window. Is there a way to simply add internet search hits incrementally ...

Importing UNC
Sorry to be dense on this, Jon. Importing Problem
I'm using the UNC Book import filter that comes standard with Bookends. I'm suddenly not able to import listings from the online database, though I haven't changed anything lately. When I select particular items in a search list and click on "copy to Database...", the progress window pops ...

Keywords applied to group
Jon, I understand the above procedure for applying a keyword from the keyword list to a group of refs, however, I think it would be so much easier and Mac intuitive to drag and drop a term from the keyword list window over a selected group of references OR drag and drop the group of references over ...
